Our Board of Directors:
Rhondavena LaPorte. Also our Executive Director. While many think of Rhondavena in other capacities, she spend her youth with horses. Her grandfather, owned racehorses, and equipped her with retired racehorses to ride/train throughout her childhood. SFES gives her a chance to train again and ride~!!!!!!
Bill LaPorte - He spent his childhood dreaming of being a cowboy. He grew up in the Bronx and actually found opportunities to ride at a stable there. When Rhondavena feel in love with Jackson, Bill was all in a built a barn and began his journey of learning to train.
Suzanne Haynes - As the wife of our wonderful farrier, Suzanne has been a part of SFES since the beginning. She's our organizer, encourager and dear friend. She is the calmest woman we know.
Ernie Haynes- A part of SFES since the beginning, Ernie didn't blink an eye when we went from 4 horses to 30 horses. Experienced with lots of Rescues, he began advising and knows his stuff. It was a natural for him to join the board.
Melanie Yost- A successful counselor and business woman, she began her horse career as a horsey-mamma. Her daughter is a champion equestrian. Melanie has always supported horses for those with anxiety and depression. Given our mission, she's a perfect match for SFES and even suggested we revise our mission to match what we do.
Jennifer Eichenberg Murphy. Jennifer comes to us with previous experience on the board of a horse rescue, finance and fund raising experience. We're lucky to have her on board.
Melanie Jordan - Melanie is a retired federal administrator who loved horses as a young girl and began volunteering at SFES in 2017. Melanie is a dedicated volunteer and her passion makes her an ideal board member.
Meg Hoover - Meg brings a "can do" attitude to any task. A SFES volunteer since 2017, she has done it all here. Her dedication is valued here at SFES and led her to our Board.
